Anyone who knows me will tell you I love great gadgets. Recently I met someone who showed me his Ryobi Cordless Inflator. I was amazed that I had never seen this great tool. It runs on your cordless tool battery and will inflate tires up to 120 PSI. What is nice is if you're in a particular tool battery platform most likely they make a cordless high pressure air inflator. To name just a few, DeWalt, Ryobi, Kobalt, Craftsman, and Bauer all make one.
I chose the Kobalt 24v High Pressure Inflator. It measures about 8"x9" and 4" deep. It weighs under 3 pounds and runs on Kobalt's 24 volt battery platform. It shows the current tire pressure on a bright LCD screen and has easy to navigate buttons all located on the front panel. You can set the desired target PSI and the unit will turn off automatically when the PSI is reached. No more wires to the battery and air hoses to power up a 12 volt air compressor.
The Kobalt has a maximum air pressure of 120 PSI and fills my 80 PSI RV tires with no problem. The 20" air hose wraps and locks to the inflator to make a compact unit that will fit in a drawer. It is actually much quieter than my corded 12 volt air pump. Kobalt is often overlooked as a quality tool battery platform but in my experience their 24v tools perform above average. If you're in a particular tool battery platform chances are that platform has an inflator. If you are not tied to a battery platform Kobalt is worth looking at.
